Term 3

Primary 6B had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas holiday however come the 6th January we were back to work with a bang! This was because along with Primary 6A we had an Assembly and Ceilidh to organise. So for the first three weeks of Term 3 we were learning Burns poetry, songs, lines and Ceilidh dancing. Some girls even learned Highland dancing to perform at our Ceilidh. We are now pleased to announce that both events went very well and we received some very positive feedback. Our Assembly collection raised £118.48 for Yorkhill Children's Hospital. We are extremely grateful for everyone's donations. Primary 6 had some very important visitors from the Fire and Rescue Service. The purpose of their visit was to educate us on fire safety in the home. We were shown a detailed power point presentation and various videos showing what could happen if we are not vigilant. The Fire Officers told us that in March we will be visiting St. Mirren Park to take part in various activities to help us stay safe in the community. Now that the Assembly and Ceilidh have passed we are ready to begin our new class topic which is Brazil! We are delighted about this topic as there is so much to learn but above all, it's fantastic that we will be able to invite family and friends along to our Open Evening later in the term. Keep an eye on our blog for our updates on St. Mirren 'Safe Kids' and perhaps some sneaky peeks of our topic! Miss Paterson and Primary 6b.
