Term 3

What a busy term we have just had! Since returning to school after our festive break we have worked non stop on our amazing topic, Brazil. Each and every one of us have achieved amazing results throughout this topic. We have learned about the land to the people, the rainforest to the carnival and the World Cup to the Olympics. The only thing we haven't done is visit Brazil! We all wish we could. We had our topic evening on Thursday 20th March which was a great success. We put on a fabulous show for our invited guests starting with a carnival dance, then a catwalk showcasing our creative costumes we designed and made and finally some of the boys from the P6 year group demonstrated their football skills. Afterwards we welcomed our guests to the classroom to see our marvellous research, displays and activities. The most popular activity was the Brazilian fruit tasting and the most popular fruit was mango. On Tuesday 1st April the P6 year group are visiting Amazonia for a 'hands on' experience of some of the rainforest's animals. We are all extremely excited about this trip. Primary 6 have also visited St. Mirren football ground this term to take part in the annual 'Safe Kids' event. We heard from the fire service, police, community wardens, internet safety and more. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of how our young people can stay safe in the community and grow as Responsible Citizens. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy spring holiday. Miss Paterson and primary 6B.
