Term 3 Update

Primary 6/7 are having a fun and busy term so far. We are busy learning about our Secret Topic, and working at converting our classroom into a room that displays our oh-so secret topic. We have been working co-operatively, deciding on activities and guiding our teacher, Miss Breslin, in our learning. We are enjoying working in groups, taking on roles and ensuring we create the best possible outcome.

As well as our Secret topic, we have participated in some extra-curricular activities. Primary 7 have been going to Renfrew High School for trampolining and are really enjoying that. A couple of mornings a week, we have been doing aerobics as a school in the mornings, which have really woken us up (and exhausted others - Miss Breslin!)

Primary 6 had curling with Ian Armour, and enjoyed participating in something they hadn't tried before.

We are having fun in ICT, creating a yearbook for primary 6 and a separate one for primary 7. It has been fun thinking about our previous years in school and remembering them fun events that have happened.

Secret Topic

After a relaxing Christmas holiday, Primary 6/7 came back to school refreshed and looking forward to a new and exciting term. Primary 6 came straight back to rehearsals for their Burns's Assembly and Ceilidh, which took place on Friday 21st of January. They learned many songs and poems, along with many new and interesting facts about the life of Robert Burns. All this information came together on the day to provide an entertaining assembly for the rest of the school and their parents. The evening was a huge success with another presentation, the address to the haggis and toast to the lassies and ladies. Once the meal was over, they were able to let their hair down with some Ceilidh dancing.

Primary 6/7 has begun their research for their secret topic, which will culminate in an open evening for their parents to observe their hard work and learning. Already they have found out many interesting facts about their topic and have some superb ideas, which will make the evening a success.

We had WOW week on week beginning 31.1.11 which proved very successful and thought provoking. We had some excellent guest speakers, thank you to everyone.
