Term 1

Primary 6/7 have an exciting start to the new school year. All of us now have additional roles, giving us the opportunity to demonstrate our capacity as Responsible Citizens. Primary 7 have been busy fulfilling their roles as Buddies, Class Monitors and Playtime Monitors. They have supported their buddies by visiting them in class, helping them at lunch and taking them on a tour of the school. Primary 6 have been equally busy performing their roles as Dinner Monitors and Playmakers. The pupils have earned lots of House Points by being helpful around the school.

As well as supporting younger pupils, Primary 6/7 have been settling into their new class. We have established our classroom community and agreed a set of rules, which we have used to underpin our Qualities. The class are organised into Cooperative Teams and this term we decided to use The Victorians to aid us in deciding our names and celebrators. We really enjoy being in our coop teams and have created wonderful work for our display.

Later this term, we will be performing lots of experiments to help us learn all about Electricity. We will also be exploring Durga Puja as part of RME.

We are currently reading 'The Witches' and all our drama is based around our class novel. Miss McCurdy has been very impressed with our performances, especially our use of accents and movement.

Primary 6 are really enjoying the weekly swimming programme and are making good progress. While Primary 6 are swimming, Primary 7 have had lots of fun at PE. They created their very own aerobic routine to music and delivered these to younger classes at gym time.

Term 1 has been very busy so far, but Primary 6/7 are up to the challenge!
